Angel & Rachel :: A Provincetown Elopement – Cape Cod Wedding Photographers

At the end of the earth

I profess my love…

     When Angel & Rachel called us from Ohio to ask if we would capture their Provincetown elopement, we immediately had a sense of duty to do so for them.  Provincetown held special meaning to Rachel, who had spent summers here, and the beauty of this little village is just everywhere… She chose to bring Rachel here for her first visit, to the end of the earth for their private vows to each other – sigh.  Race Point Beach, where they chose to have their sweet ceremony is one of the top beaches in America, and one of the few spots on the east coast where you can watch the sun set into the water… Through the beach grass, with sand in jars they had brought from several special places special to them, they poured their individual sands together as seagulls flew overhead, the personal words beautifully spoken by Rev Kathleen were poignant as the gentle wind rustled the reeds, and the 4 of us breathed in the sea…  It was magical.

Provincetown is one of the oldest artist colonies in America, and being only a couple of towns away, it has always been a part of our lives.  So Joe & I were more than happy to explore some lovely spots in town to photograph these two! The sky turned dark the moment we headed out, so we drove for a while until the rains passed… and when the clouds moved on, the sky could not have been more  fabulous….  We took time to take photos at the gorgeous home they were staying, and the historic Cemetery, the secret gardens of Wa, Commercial Street, and the rustic harbor…

 I am a native Cape Codder, Joe is a wash-a-shore  so growing up here, we were very aware that a life of art, tolerance and astounding natural beauty lay not too far down the road… and so we spent as much time as we could in Ptown…  Our thanks to these two, who touched us in a quiet profound way and allowed us to be there for their love… We hope to someday visit Ohio, do yoga with Angel, and see their amazing buy local Ohio community…
